A public consultation on a proposed greenway from Lough Key to Carrick-on-Shannon will take place today, Wednesday September 6th, at Lough Key Forest and Activity Park between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m..Members of Roscommon County Council’s Greenways team based in the National Roads Regional Office, along with Project Consultants, will be in attendance. The study area will be outlined, and people’s feedback is encouraged. Feedback forms will be available on the day and closing date for receipt of these completed forms is Wednesday, October 4th 2023. With the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII), the council plans to develop the greenway to showcase this area of North Roscommon. It would also serve as a recreational facility, providing a key link between Lough Key Forest Park and the key population centres of Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon.
